主講人簡介：羅永現教授曾在澳大利亞國立學校獲得歷史比較語言學、東南亞語言學、語言類型學博士學位。目前在墨爾本大學擔任副教授。是語言學和翻譯學的博士生導師。多家國際意昂体育刊物及國際意昂体育出版社特約審稿人，美國國家科學基金會(NSF)特邀評審人，香港科研基金會評審人；教育部特約評審專家（語言學學科）。

講座摘要：講座將討論語言類型學與翻譯的關系以及主講人作為一名譯者的一些反思。講座上還將討論翻譯的本質、翻譯的不確定性、語篇結構、詞匯語義以及語言類型學對翻譯研究的貢獻。

Abstract：The talk discusses the relevance of linguistic typology to translation, with reflections from a translation practitioner. Issues to be discussed include the nature of translation, indeterminacy of translation, discourse structure, lexical semantic and how linguistic typology may contribute to translation studies.
